Apr 20, 2011 (newstodate): The Faeroe Island's Vagar Airport has named Joergen Krab Joergensen as new member of the Board.
Mr Krab Joergensen was formerly managing director for Denmark's Billund Airport that went through a successful period of growth and development during his term of office, 1997-2010.
Similarly, the Vagar Airport is amidst a large expansion and modernization project including expansion of the runway from 1,250 to 1,799 m as required when the Faeroe Islands' carrier Atlantic Airways takes delivery of its new Airbus A319 aircraft in spring, 2012.
Atlantic Airways placed its order for an Airbus A319 in January 2008, and also holds one option for a similar aircraft.
The delivery was earlier scheduled for the end of 2011.
