Apr 04, 2011 (newstodate): Effective from April 15, 2011, Sweden's Cargo Center will take over the handling of Finnair Cargo's shipments at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
Finnair operates nine daily flights from Stockholm Arlanda, four from
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, as well as five weekly freighter operations at Malmoe Sturup Airport.
Already in 2010, Cargo Center landed a contract with Finnair Cargo for cargo handling at Sweden's Norrkoping Airport, and the handling of Finnair Cargo at Gothenburg and Malmoe will be performed by partners of Cargo Center.
Most of Finnair Cargo's shipments from the Swedish market is trucked to Helsinki Vantaa Airport for transfer to flights to the airline's Asian destinations.
In addition to handling of airfreight shipments, Cargo Center will also be responsible for handling of Finnair Cargo's air mail shipments at Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
