Apr 15, 2011 (newstodate): The Czech aviation industry is heading towards a major boost by a fresh order from Brazil's Embraer.
The Czech aircraft company Aero Vodochody is close to landing a contract with Embraer for production and delivery of parts to the new Embraer KC-390, a cargo aircraft for military purposes with a capacity of 21 tonnes of payload.
Construction of the first two prototype aircraft is planned to start in 2013, and the Brazilian Airforce has placed orders for 28 units.
