Mar 16, 2011 (newstodate): TNT is pursuing a two-stringed approach to its services in the Danish market.
Serving the eastern part of Denmark, including the capital area, are daily flights from Liege to Sweden's Malmo Sturup Airport, on the other side of the Oresund Strait, with a Boeing 737-200 freighter.
Serving the western part of Denmark are daily flights from Liege to Billund Airport with a BAe 146 aircraft.
Shipments to and from Eastern Denmark are handled at the TNT hub at Hvidovre, while shipments to and from Western Denmark are handled at the TNT hub at Kolding.
As the flights from Liege to Billund leave after the flights to Malmo Sturup, this service also provides a back-up to the Malmo flights as to late deliveries from the Liege hub destined for Eastern Denmark .
TNT also provides an in-night service to the Danish market as the integrator operates a BAe 146 flight from Brussels to Jonkoping, Sweden, from where shipments for Denmark are transferred unto a flight to Billund Airport operated with a Fairchild Metroliner by the Swedish provider Fly Logistics.
In-night shipments for the eastern part of Denmark are then trucked from Billund to the hub at Hvidovre.
