Mar 30, 2011 (newstodate): The Swedish regional carrier Skyways is building up traffic at Sweden's Jonkoping Airport.
On March 28, 2011, the carrier launched daily flights on a new route from Jonkoping to Berlin, using Embraer 145 aircraft joining the fleet this week.
From May 16, 2011, the route will be further extended to include also Geneva, Switzerland.
Also from March 28, 2011, Skyways will be operating flights between Jonkoping and Brussels, with two daily rotations on the route.
Skyways is also to add a fifth rotation on the route from Jonkoping to Stockholm, using Fokker 50 aircraft.
The increased traffic by Skyways coincides with the carrier's move of its HQ and technical base to Jonkoping airport from the start of this year.
By the end of 2010, Avia Express AB was acquired by the asset management company Manswell Enterprises Limited, securing financing for the continued commercial operation of Avia Express under the brand Skyways.
