Mar 31, 2011 (newstodate): Slovakia is soon to re-open Sliac International Airport for commercial traffic after a thorough redevelopment.
The airport has been closed for traffic since 2009, but after completion of work on its 2,340m runway as well as other pertinent infrastructure, the airport will start operations again.
Sliac Airport, in central Slovakia, is operated by the Slovak Air Force that retains control of flight operations, while passenger-related services will be provided by the Slovak company Letisko Sliac
