Mar 28, 2011 (newstodate): SAS is today re-opening direct flights between Norway's Oslo Gardermoen Airport and New York Newark Airport.
This marks the end of seven years of absence on this route now also served by Continental since June 18, 2004, when SAS decided to pull out.
Air cargo will play a significant role in the business plan, providing uplift of Norwegian salmon to the fast growing US market, as well as US exports to Norway including ships spares and equipment for the oil industry in the eastern direction.
