Mar 09, 2011 (newstodate): Russia's leading cargo carrier Volga-Dnepr is reportedly in the market for the acquisition of a carrier to provide it with efficient feeder services.
In the searchlight of Volga-Dnepr is the Russian carrier Atran, formerly named Aviatrans, 73 percent owned by employees and operating a fleet of AN-12, AN-12 and IL-76 aircraft, sources say.
The business idea is to set up a network of feeder flights between Volga-Dnepr's Russian hubs and major destinations in the Russian market.
Atran is based at Moscow Domodedovo Airport and operates flights between Moscow and Liege and Luxembourg.
