Mar 02, 2011 (newstodate): Russia's Koltsovo Airport, serving Ekaterinburg, is strengthening its focus on cargo traffic.
The airport has invested extensively in new cargo handling equipment including hi-loaders to cope with the expected sustained growth in cargo an mail volumes that increased by 68.9 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 22,900 tonnes in 2010.
In 2012 the airport plans to launch business in a new cargo terminal that will lift annual handling capacity to 80,000 tonnes, three times the capacity of the current facilities.
