Mar 04, 2011 (newstodate): Lithuanian carrier Small Planet Airlines is expecting to build up a new fleet of Airbus aircraft, adding to its existing fleet of Boeing aircraft.
In the fleet now are seven Boeing 737-300, four Boeing 737-500 and two Boeing 757-200, but the carrier will soon take delivery of it first Airbus A320 aircraft, with a second to follow suit shortly.
The first Airbus A320 will be located at Small Planet Airlines' base in Poland, and the second aircraft will be allocated to the airline's Lithuanian operations.
The carrier, however, also plans to place orders for Airbus A319 and A321 aircraft while no exact dates for these deliveries have yet been fixed.
The process will hinge on decisions on time frames and on new operational bases to come, according to a company spokesman.
