Mar 29, 2011 (newstodate): Serbia has come to the rescue of Iran Air that is hit by sanctions in most other European airports.
Aircraft from Iran Air are now allowed to land in Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport for fueling on routes between Tehran and destinations in Europe where the carrier cannot be fueled as part of the EU sanctions imposed on Iran.
The technical stop at Belgrade adds to the flying time on the European routes, and passengers are not allowed to disembark during the process.
