Mar 28, 2011 (newstodate): Estonian Air has decided to phase-out its SAAB 340A aircraft.
The two aircraft will be returned to the leasing company, and plans are to decrease the number of SAAB 340 flights already from the start of the summer flight schedule in order to make the transition to new and larger turboprop aircraft as smooth and cost-effective as possible.
With only one SAAB 340 aircraft in services from now, Estonian will thus temporarily suspend services from Tallinn to Vilnius and Minsk.
So far, the carrier has not announced its decision on which new turboprop aircraft type to order for its future operations.
