Mar 11, 2011 (newstodate): The Danish handling provider, Copenhagen Flight Services has now landed its first customer at Copenhagen Airport after b eing licensed as the airport's third handling provider in August 2010.
Effective from June 1, 2011, Copenhagen Flight Services will provide a full handling package to EasyJet, currently served by Novia at the airport's dedicated low-cost facility.
-While the contract is still to be officially signed, all things have basically fallen into place and we are to start recruiting fresh staff to handling of EasyJet, says Torben Andersen, Copenhagen Flight Services managing director.
-We expect to grow to some 40-50 staff serving EasyJet including 20 staff on the apron and another 20 serving passengers at the check-in positions and in the low-cost facility CPH Go.
-It is of course a significant step forward in our strategy to build up Copenhagen Flight Services as a significant player at Copenhagen Airport, and with EasyJet's 10-12 flights per day we are starting out with steady base for further growth, says Mr Andersen.
The Danish company Copenhagen Flight Services is part of the Swedish Nordic Aero Group that joined ion November 2010 with Roeros Flyservice and Norport Handling in setting up Aviator Airport Alliance, now present at 11 Swedish and Norwegian airport, growing to 12 as Copenhagen Flight Services lifts off in June this year.
