Mar 02, 2011 (newstodate): Despite a fall in imports, Denmark's Billund Airport continued its growth in cargo volumes through February 2011.
In February, the airport handled a total of 4,574 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 12.7 percent, y-o-y.
Included in the totals were 2,498 tonnes of exports, growing 48.7 percent over last year, while imports, 2,076 tonnes, dropped steeply by 12.8 percent.
For January-February 2011, total were 9.318 tonnes of cargo, up 16,5 percent, y-o-y, still seeing import volumes up by 1.6 percent, while exports increased by 36.3 percent, y-o-y, to 4,689 tonnes.
The steep drop in February's imports may be attributed to the effects from the Chinese new year holiday period.
