Mar 08, 2011 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport is still in a free fall as to cargo volumes.
In February 2011, the airport handled at total of 904 tonnes of cargo and mail, down 55.89 percent, y-o-y.
Included in the totals were 80 tonnes of mail and 824 tonnes of cargo, which as an increase by 19.4 percent in mail volumes, while cargo volumes fell 58.3 percent, y-o-y.
In 2010 the airport handled a total of 11,960 tonnes of cargo, down 43 percent, y-o-y.
The decline set in from March 2010, when the crucial traffic of ex-China exports for Russia transferred via the airport ceased.
The airport may thus see more reliable statistics returning from this month, indicating a more realistic picture of the development in cargo volumes.
