Feb 09, 2011 (newstodate): Work has started on construction of a new passenger terminal at Azerbaijan's Baku Heydar Aliyev's International Airport.
Designed by the UK-based engineering and construction company Arup, the new 53,000 sq m terminal will adapt to the region's seismic conditions and is designed for an annual handling capacity of three million passengers.
The terminal will have eight air bridges compatible with the Boeing 767 aircraft, and will be opened in 2013.
