Feb 28, 2011 (newstodate): At its next meeting on March 8, 2011, the Board of West Air Sweden is expected to make a decision on the future of its flight operations department.
-We have conducted sort of a tender process calling on most ATP aircraft operators to consider working with us, says Russell Ladkin, Sales & Operations Director West Atlantic.
-We have had several interesting responses that will all be put on the table for the Board to review, and I would expect a decision to be reached and announced shortly after.
-So at this moment, all options remain open, but as earlier stated we are seeking a solution to the future localization of our flight operations department after the carrier lost in the latest tender by Post Norway for postal flights, says Mr Ladkin.
As earlier reported by newstodate, after the Norwegian tender it became obvious for West Air Sweden that it has been operating in a high-cost environment making it uncompetitive due to high wages, high social costs, and high costs for maintaining AOCs in Scandinavia, driving the need for out-sourcing its flight operations department outside Scandinavia.
