Feb 07, 2011 (newstodate): It now seems certain that Delta Air Lines is not planning to operate summer traffic between Oslo, Norway, and New York.
The carrier had applied for slots at Oslo Gardermoen Airport but failed to confirm the application at deadline.
Alone in serving the Norwegian market with direct Transatlantic flights this summer will be SAS and Continental.
Continental opened services to Oslo from June 18, 2004, as its launch of services to Scandinavia, later adding flights to Stockholm, Sweden, from June 3, 2005, and to Copenhagen, Denmark, from May 24, 2006.
After a lapse, SAS is returning its Transatlantic service in the Norwegian market from end of March 2011, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
