Feb 21, 2011 (newstodate): Tajikistan's privately-owned carrier Somon Air has plans for expansion of its air cargo business.
From April or May, 2011, Somon Air will add a second frequency on their route from Dushanbe to Frankfurt, and the carrier will also introduce a Boeing 737-300F aircraft to operate between Dushanbe and Germany, probably Frankfurt Hahn.
The planned freighter service will provide transfer services to China, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
The carrier performed its first commercial flight on February 5, 2008, opening up with services to Moscow and later, on July 29, 2009, adding services to Frankfurt, Germany, as its first flight into Europe, where Aircargonet International is serving Somon Air as its GSSA.
In the fleet of Somon Air are two Boeing 737-800, while two Boeing 737-900 aircraft are expected to be delivered during H2 in 2011.
