Feb 22, 2011 (newstodate): The opening of Serbia's new commercial airport, Kraljevo-Ladevci Airport is running behind schedule, but the project is still in progress.
Originally slated for commissioning before the end of 2010, the airport is now said to open in 2011 after renewed state investments in the project to change the airport's role from military base to commercial airport.
The airport has one 2,200m runway, to be extended to 2,750m, and a new ATC tower, while a passenger terminal that will become operational this year.
The existing military airfield will be split into a military base retaining the name Krajelvo-Ladevci, and the coming civilian airport, to be named Morava Airport.
