Feb 11, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Yakutia Airlines, based at Yakutsk, has taken delivery of its second Boeing 737-800 New Generation aircraft.
Like the preceding aircraft, the newcomer has been acquired on a leasing contract with the US leasing company Oak Hill, and it will be introduced into commercial service later this month.
The carrier also operates one Boeing 737-700 aircraft that entered service with Yakutia in July, 2009.
Together with two Superjet 100 aircraft on order, the new aircraft will help replace the fleet of TU-154 aircraft, now grounded after the recent accidents with this aircraft type.
