Feb 04, 2011 (newstodate): The ownership of Yekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport in Russia's Sverdlovsk Region has now been changed.
The Russian president has signed an order to transfer the state-owned shares of the airport to Sverdlovsk Region, allowing it to seek investors to its plans for expansion and modernization.
The new ownership structure will be in place within six months after the inked has dried on the papers.
The airport's plans include the construction of a new airport terminal, a new cargo complex, and a complete renovation of the airport's two current runways as well as construction of a new third runway.
Lufthansa Consulting has been involved in the design of the master plan and the future strategy of the airport.
