Feb 03, 2011 (newstodate): The future of the Lithuanian charter airline and ACMI provider Aurela now seems to have been secured through a take-over of the assets by Cyprus-based company Gold'nsky Leasing.
-The deal has been finalized and we are now awaiting the realization of the financial commitments. Beyond that we can offer no further information at this stage, says Antanas Simutis, Aurela charter sales manager.
By the end of 2010 it became known that Saulius Karosas, the owner of the carrier that was the country's first privately-owned airline, had decided to sell his stake, and this has forced Aurela to seek new investors.
Aurela operates two Boeing 737-300 and two Hawker aircraft for charter operations and VIP services from the base at Vilnius Airport.
With Alexander Kochetkov as its CEO and president, Gold'nskyleasing portraits itself as a total solution provider for aircraft investors and airlines, based on a broad, in-depth experience and intelligence in the aviation industry.
