Feb 25, 2011 (newstodate): The Lithuanian charter carrier, so far a steadfast Boeing operator, is to add a second aircraft type in 2011.
New in the fleet will be two Airbus A320 aircraft, and the carrier is now recruiting staff for the new operations that will be based in Poland.
With the new aircraft, Small Planet Airlines will serve Polish tour operators Alfa Star and Triata providing flights from Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk and Poznan to destinations in southern Europe during the coming summer programs.
The carrier also operates seven Boeing 737-300 aircraft, three of which will be based in Italy under a four-year agreement with Italian air charter broker Aeroservizi to support all year round charter flight programs from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa.
Besides Small Planet Airlines operates four Boeing 737-500 aircraft for the Kazakh carrier SCAT and Tajik Air, respectively.
