Feb 02, 2011 (newstodate): The start of operations by North Hub Services at Stockholm Arlanda Airport has now been set for July 1, 2011.
That is a few months later than originally planned, April 2011.
-We are dialogue with the newcomer, and there is space for equipment and staff. Our job is solely to ensure that an applicant complies with standards and regulations, so whether or not there is a business case remains for the applicant to decide, says Roy Trulsson, Swedavia Account Manager and responsible for Ground Handling issues.
-We are aware also that the Danish Novia Group is evaluating conditions for returning ground handling services at the airport. But so far there has been no formal negotiations, says Mr Trulsson.
There are currently five handling providers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, two of which are dedicated to general aviation and a US carrier, respectively, leaving three handling providers, SGS, Nordic Aero and Menzies Aviation to greet the opening of North Hub Services.
