Feb 22, 2011 (newstodate): The Swedish forwarding and logistics provider Greencarrier may be mainly identified with trucking services - but besides trucking, sea cargo and project cargo services, air cargo is increasingly becoming an important constituent in its pallet of services .
The backbone of the airfreight division is provided by former Geodis Wilson executives, like the new CEO of the company, Peter Nevhagen.
At the head of the Greencarrier airfreight division is Bo Sunnaaker, formerly Geodis Wilson, like Jorgen Ekwall who is now Greencarrier operations manager air cargo.
-Airfreight was actually part of Greencarrier's service offering all along, but our target is now to move up on the IATA CASS statistics from currently No 15 to a position among the top-10 forwarders within the coming few years, says Jorgen Ekwall.
-Our ambition is not, however, to grow into a giant provider like Geodis Wilson, DHL, K&N or DB Schenker. Our focus is rather to focus on our home markets that comprise the Nordic and Baltic markets where we have own offices, as is the case in Ukraine as well.
-The trade between these markets and the Far East is fast developing, and we have offices to service this development also in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Shanghai. In all other markets we work through local agents, says Mr Ekwall.
