Behind the route is DB Schenker Northern Cargo serving Norwegian exporters of fresh salmon to the Chinese market, as well as shippers of general cargo sold by Roadfeeders as GSA.
Beyond Hong Kong, shipments will be transferred to other Chinese destinations such as Guangzhou, Shenzen, Xiamen and Fuzhou.
The BAWC flight originates at London Stansted Airport, flying empty to Oslo Gardermoen Airport for the flight to Hong Kong.
On the return trip the aircraft is routed via Chennai, India, and Frankfurt before returning to Stansted.
British Airways World Cargo last served the Norwegian salmon exporters with direct flights to Asia in 2000, suspended again after a rather brief period.
