Feb 09, 2011 (newstodate): The new year opened with a sustained steep fall in cargo volumes at Estonia's Tallinn Airport.
The airport handled a total of 867 tonnes of cargo, down 58.6 percent, y-o-y.
The sustained fall reflects the impact of stop of ex-China exports through the airport, destined for Russia, which set in from spring 2010.
On the positive side, however, air cargo exports continue to rise at Tallinn Airport, in January up 75.4 percent, y-o-y, to 135 tonnes.
Imports, including the former Chinese goods, dropped 66.5 percent to 649 tonnes.
