The Croatian airport plans to open a tender in April 2011 for construction of a new 65,000 sq.m terminal to be built in three phases, with the first phase planned to be completed in 2014 after construction works starting in 2012 when the detailed architectural and engineering works have been finalized.

Once the planned new terminal has been commissioned, the existing terminal will be dedicated to low-cost operators.
In 2010 the airport handled a total of 138,000 passengers and 8,156 tonnes of cargo.
