Feb 08, 2011 (newstodate): The Macedonian carrier Skywings International Airlines is reportedly in dire financial strains after only one year of operations.
Faced with a growing debts pile, the carrier has canceled most of its flights, and the AOC will be lost within only a few months if not renewed - or if not revoked by the aviation authority before that.
Based at Skopje Airport, Skywings was set up in 2009 to fill the void after the bankruptcy of MAT Macedonian Airlines, and performed its first flight on July 19, 2009, with one Boeing 737-300 aircraft in the fleet.
