Dec 16, 2011 (newstodate): The project for setting up a new cargo service, Arctic Cargo Airlines at Sweden's Luleaa Kallax Airport remains stalled.
The issues concerning freezing the business plan and settling details concerning operations and commercial set-up were soon finalized - but the crux remains to secure financing of the venture that aims at providing freighter uplift capacity for Norway's seafood exports to the Asian markets.
A recent call on Lars Hedemalm, one of the driving forces behind the project, confirms that the project is still in a limbo.
-It is certainly not easy these days to obtain financial means and commitments to a venture like this, says Mr Hedemalm.
Mr Hedemalm earlier told newstodate that once the financial issues are settled, the first freighter service by Arctic Cargo Airlines would be in the air within 270 days of final preparations.
-We have already now firm commitments from Norwegian exporters for at least 40 tonnes of shipments per week, Mr Hedemalm said in September 2011.
