Dec 27, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero secured a nice end to 2011 for Boeing.
Transaero on December 26, 2011, signed an order with Boeing for delivery of four Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft that will gradually replace the Boeing 767 aircraft used on the carrier's network of domestic and intercontinental destinations.
Since 1993, Transaero has build up a firm relationship with Boeing, being the first Russian carrier to introduce both the Boeing 747 and the Boeing 777 aircraft, and awaiting also the first deliveries in Russia and the Boeing 747-8 aircraft by 2016.
The carrier has also placed an order for delivery of four Airbus A380 aircraft, which will also become the first in Russian registration.
