Dec 29, 2011 (newstodate): In 2011, Poland's Katowice Airport will see its cargo volumes grow above 2010-levels.
During the first 11 months of this year, a total of 10,958 tonnes of cargo has been handled by the airport.
This compares to full-year volumes in 2010 that reached 11,195 tonnes.
So far, the airport's record in volumes was set in 2008 when 12,703 tonnes of cargo was handled at Katowice Airport.
On the passenger side, forecasts predict that the airport will have handled 2.55 million passengers by the end of 2011 - the highest number in its history and over 155,000 more than in 2010.
