Dec 22, 2011 (newstodate): November was not the best month in 2011 for cargo at Poland's Warsaw Frederic Chopin Airport - but 2011 will end with a positive growth in volumes.
In November, cargo volumes dropped by 0.5 percent, y-o-y, to 3,600 tonnes, while volumes during January-November were up by 7.8 percent, y-o-y, to 39,941 tonnes.
Of the totals during the 11 months period, 39,200 tonnes were international cargo while the remaining 681 tonnes were transported on domestic routes.
Warsaw Chopin Airport's main cargo carriers remain unchanged in January-November 2011, with LOT accounting for 13,200 tonnes, UPS Airlines for 10,200 tonnes, EAT for 5,700 tonnes, Sprint Air for 1,600 tonnes, and Air Contractors contributing with 1,400 tonnes.
In 2010, Warsaw Chopin Airport, Poland's largest airport, handled over 8.7 million passengers and close to 41,000 tonnes of cargo.
