Dec 13, 2011 (newstodate): In October 2011, the Swedish market fared the worst as to IATA export airfreight, compared with the other Nordic markets.
In Sweden, IATA export volumes dropped by 28.1 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 9,425 tonnes, while the Danish IATA export airfreight market performed the best with a modest decline by 1.2 percent, y-o-y, to 7,212 tonnes.
The Norwegian IATA export airfreight market performed second-best, down two percent to 7,230 tonnes, while the Finnish market dropped 18.9 percent, y-o-y, to 3,512 tonnes.
In Scandinavia, the national carrier SAS was ranked #1 in Sweden with 1,397 tonnes, #2 in Denmark with 888 tonnes, and #5 in Sweden with 639 tonnes.
In the Finnish market Finnair remained unbeatable in its position as #1 with 1,867 tonnes, corresponding to 53.2 percent of the IATA export airfreight market.
