Dec 22, 2011 (newstodate): As planned, the new carrier Slovakian Airlines has now completed the project phase and is in the air with its first ACMI customer.
From this week, the carrier is operating for the Armenian carrier Armavia on routes out of Yerevan.
In early 2012, Slovakian Airlines will next announce the opening of its first own scheduled routes that are expected to include flights from Bratislava to destinations in the UK, Italy, Spain and Russia.
The airline, based at Bratislava Milan Rastislav Stefanik Airport and set up by Slovak entrepreneur Arnold Medzihradsky and Mikhail Bagdasarov who is also the owner of the Armenian carrier Armavia, received its AOC in October 2011 and starts out with one ex-CSA Boeing 737-500 on a lease contract with Armavia.
