Dec 07, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier IrAero is planning for its first scheduled flight into the Baltic region, which will also become the carrier's first international flight.
Effective from December 15, 2011, IrAero will introduce four weekly rotations on a new route between Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Kaunas Airport, in Lithuania, using CRJ200 aircraft on the route.
So far, traffic between Lithuania and Moscow has necessitated a transfer via Latvia's Riga Airport.
IrAero, based at Irkutsk, operates a fleet comprising four An-24, nine An-26, and four Embraer CRJ200 serving a network till now covering 18 domestic Russian destinations only.
