Dec 12, 2011 (newstodate): On December 1, 2011, the air navigation service providers in Northern European countries signed an agreement regarding airspace cooperation.
The agreement was signed by the air navigation service providers of Finland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Iceland.
EU requires that member states set up, by the end of 2012, functional airspace blocks, FABs.
The FABs are designed to serve the needs of airspace users and ensure that air navigation services providers have been coherently organized and without regards to national borders.
