Dec 30, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier UTAir is seeing growing demand in the market for air transport between Russia and Slovakia.
UTAir started serving the route between Moscow Vnukovo Airport and Bratislava from June 1, 2011, initially offering four weekly rotations with CRJ200 aircraft.
Effective from December 26, 2011, UTAir has upgraded the service by replacing the CRJ200 with Boeing 737-500 aircraft, and frequency has been upped to daily rotations on the route.
When UTAir stepped in, the route was left unserved for a year after Aeroflot pulled out from May 2010.
