Dec 28, 2011 (newstodate): The weekly Boeing 747-400F flights from Shanghai, China, to Kaunas Airport, in Lithuania, is taking a seasonal break.
-We suspended the flight on Christmas Eve, but plans were to operate the flight on New Years Eve as shipments were booked, says Dalia Ciutaite, Hoptrans managing director.
-However, it turned out that the flight on December 31, 2011, would require many additional permits and special agreements due to the situation on New Year's Eve, so we decided to suspend it as well. But operations will resume in January 2012 with four flights as planned.
Since the first flight on April 2, 2011, Jade Cargo is online at Lithuania's Kaunas Airport with a weekly flight from Shanghai.
And from June 18, 2011, Lufthansa Cargo Lufthansa Cargo has taken over the flight from Kaunas Airport to Frankfurt, extending to Bombay, India.
