Dec 21, 2011 (newstodate): The Icelandair Group has acquired two Boeing 757-200 aircraft currently operated under a leasing contract.
Icelandair decided to acquire the aircraft from the lessor due to the favorable purchase price offered.
-Given the estimated usage time of the aircraft the net effect of the acquisition on the Group accounts will be positive, which was a leading factor in the decision, a statement on the deal says.
The Icelandair Group operates a total of 22 Boeing 757 aircraft, of which 10 are now owned and 12 leased.
