Dec 07, 2011 (newstodate): The Swedish IATA export airfreight market is bleeding in 2011.
In October 2011, the total IATA export cargo volumes were down to 9,428 tonnes - a decline by no less than 28.1 percent, y-o-y.
Eight out of ten IATA carriers operating in the Swedish market saw negative growth in volumes in October, with KLM Cargo and Finnair Cargo as the only exceptions with increases by 22 and 11.7 percent, y-o-y, ranking them No 2 and 3, respectively.
Topping the list was SAS Cargo with 1,397 tonnes, but still down 29.4 percent, y-o-y.
Lufthansa Cargo came 4th, with 796 tonnes, down 64.7 percent, followed by Emirates with 682 tonnes, down 2.7 percent, Korean Air Lines Cargo with 599 tonnes, down 4.1 percent, Martinair with 501 tonnes, down 50.5 percent, Thai Airways with 488 tonnes, down 17.2 percent, Air China with 481 tonnes, down 25.2 percent, and finally Singapore Airlines Cargo with 468 tonnes, down 9.1 percent, y-o-y.
With a market share at 22.8 percent, "other IATA carriers" accounted for 2,148 tonnes of export airfreight, down 32.7 percent, y-o-y.
