Dec 21, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Aeroflot plans to segment its airline subsidiaries in 2012.
The segments will be Premium, Regional and Charter, with Aeroflot poised in the Premium segment, Vladivostok Air, Rossiya Airlines, Saravia, SAT Airlines and Donavia rated as Regional carriers, and Orenburg Airlines placed in the Charter segment.
Plans are also to limit the aircraft fleet of each airline, except for Aeroflot, to two aircraft types to secure fleet large enough to sustain well-developed aircraft maintenance capacity and competencies.
