Nov 28, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier Transaero is the country's fastest-growing airline among Russia's top-five companies.
During the first 10 months of 2011, the carrier lifted 7,252,691 passenger, up 28.5 percent, y-o-y.
The growth in cargo volumes followed suit with an increase by 27.7 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 40,783 tonnes.
In October 2011, Transaero signed an MoU with Airbus for four A380 aircraft, followed in November 2011 by another order for four Boeing 747-8 aircraft.
The fleet of Transaero currently comprises 75 aircraft, and orders have so far been placed for delivery of another 33 new aircraft.
