Nov 07, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian carrier VIM Avia has reportedly been barred from operating into EU airports.
Sources claim that the carrier has been notified by the Russian authorities that its AOC has been rendered invalid for operations into the EU following on an aircraft inspection by EU authorities at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport on September 26 this year.
Expectations are that this might be followed by inclusion of VIM Avia on the EU Aviation Black list in its next issue.
The case is rather surprising as VIM Avia operates a modern fleet comprising 11 Boeing 757-200, with orders for delivery of 15 Boeing 737-900ER and 10 TU-204 aircraft.
