Nov 28, 2011 (newstodate): The Russian airline group UTAir reports growth in cargo and mail volumes carried during the first 10 months of 2011.
A total of 15,030 tonnes of cargo and 4,000 tonnes of mail was carried by the airline, an increase by 21.4 and 29.7 percent, respectively, compared to same period in 2010.
In 2010, UTair saw its cargo volumes on fixed-wing aircraft up by 30.9 percent, to 15,377 tonnes, while mail volumes were 3,872 tonnes.
The carrier also operates one of the world's largest rotary-wing fleets that lifted a total of 127,200 tonnes of cargo during January-October 2011, an increase by 6.5 percent, y-0-y.
In 2010, UTAir's helicopters transported 141,262 tonnes of cargo, up 34.3 percent, y-o-y.
The UTAir Group's companies are involved in special assignments around the world, including UN operations.
