Nov 08, 2011 (newstodate): Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency, Rosaviatsiya, has restricted a total of four Russian carrier from operating into the EU.
In addition to VIM Avia that was already reported by newstodate yesterday, the move also comprises Dagestan Airlines that operates a fleet of TU-154 aircraft, Yakutia Airlines that operates a fleet primarily consisting of Boeing aircraft, and Tatarstan Airlines that operates a mixed fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
The ban took effect from November 3, 2011, and was presumably proclaimed to protect the airlines from being included in the next version of the EU Commission's list of airlines banned from operating into EU for lack of compliance with EU's air safety regulations.
