Nov 01, 2011 (newstodate): China Southern Airlines has experienced a troubled start to its Airbus A380 operations.
After only 21 days in operation, the carrier had to suspended A380 services due to unspecified technical problems requiring spares to be flown in from Airbus.
The aircraft, delivered to the carrier on October 15, 2011, was first introduced on the domestic route between Beijing and Guangzhou and, from October 27, 2011, transferred to the route between Beijing and Shanghai, and plans were to introduce it on international routes from the start of November 2011.
China Southern Airlines will take delivery of its second of five A380 ordered in December 2011, with the remaining three aircraft to follow in 2012.
