Nov 23, 2011 (newstodate): The Lithuanian cargo GSA Strike Aviation LT, with headquarters at Vilnius, has opened up an own office in a new market, following on the opening of activities in Warsaw, Poland, from September 2011.
-Our latest addition is an own cargo GSA company in Macedonia where we are now providing our launch customer, Malev, with cargo GSA services, says Andrius Antanaitis, JSC Strike Aviation LT General Manager.
-We started out with sales promotion from the end of October 2011, but were officially in business from the start of November. We are slowly building up at Skopje Alexander the Great Airport, where Malev is online with two daily Boeing 737-800 rotations from Budapest, Hungary, and we are quite confident that this will grow into a significant business also considering the fact that not many international airlines are yet online at this destination.
-Macedonia's airfreight is of course primarily imports, but airfreight exports are growing as well, especially as to textiles, pharmaceuticals, DIP and other products, and we are already seeing these shipments booked on Malev, says Mr Antanaitis.
Earlier this year, Strike Aviation LT also landed German Air Cargo as a new GSA principal in all three Baltic countries.
