Nov 23, 2011 (newstodate): Georgia's new Kopitnari Airport at Kutaisi will be commissioned in spring 2012.
One of three international airports in Georgia after Tblisi and Batumi, Kutaisi Airport has been designed by the Dutch company A Design, and will have a 2,500 m runway to serve both daily operations as well as providing a new alternate airport for international air traffic.
The new airport is close to Kopitnari Airport that will be relegated to serving especially cargo operations after the opening of the city's new international airport.
